Third grade students who attend Thomas Hart Benton Elementary School in Independence Missouri who were in their classroom during reading class saw a house on fire near their school on Thursday November 6. A student named Shaelynn and her classmate Emmett altered their teach Addison Hudson about the fire which happened and Addison called 911 to report the fire. Firefighters with the Independence Fire Department answered the emergency call and they were able to rescue a dog that was inside the burning building and give the dog oxygen to revive the dog. The good thing is that the dog is in good condition after the firefighters saved the dog from a possible tragic ending since no one was home at the time when the fire started. The firefighters went to visit the school to thank the students and teacher for alerting them about the house fire. Link is snuggle.upworthy.com/third-graders-,,,

The students will recall this incident with pride. And a sterling example to others to respond to such emergencies without delay.

The world relies on such alert people, young, and old, to bring these things to the notice of those who can provide help, and here a good result was the outcome of such action, a dog's life saved.
