Short story: A Rabbi talks about life purpose

Rabbi Sostha Reshevski had just said this, seemingly exaggerated claim, to one of his students:
"If something had no place in your purpose of being of your living, it would not exist in your world."
The student thought to himself that this statement could not possibly be true, but he decided to think about it for a while anyway, as after all, it was his esteemed Rabbi, who had said it.
He decided to get a second opinion, by travelling to the next town, and asking the Rabbi there about it.
This Rabbi said:
"The world is about more than just you, and your so-called little world, and things exist for others too, and for all of you to share, and so creation does not just exist on its own just for you."
This sounded rather pointed, and seemingly contradictive to what his own Rabbi had said.
But then, this Rabbi added:
"And yet, without you in this world, the world could not exist as a whole too. So, we all play our part, and we serve the world, as much as it serves us."
"You have your unique purpose for being here, as does everybody else, and the World has its own purpose too, of which your purpose is a sub-purpose, of the World's purpose, or of creation, or of God's overall purpose, for his world too."
"And so, we now see that your Rabbi was right after-all; everything has a purpose for its existence, and God does not create anything in vain."
"Things can go awry when parts of God's creation work at odds to his purpose, but in the end, all will come together for the glory of God. How can it ever be otherwise, given that God is God, and always remains God."
"Oh,"
said the student,
"I see. Thanks for your clear erudition here for me of my Rabbi's statement."

Our own purpose must work hand in hand with God's purpose, for it to be a real purpose, helping God in his purpose.

Even God would have many purposes too, all built from his energy of love, though, and from his truth, and wisdom, as well.
So, yes, we can have more than one purpose too, l agree.

@innertalks I know some relationships I've had were for a reason and purpose as well. Just like the Madea explanation of the tree.

@noni1959 Yes, we probably have a root purpose, or a reason for our life, that underpins all of our other purposes, and reasons, for our life too

Yes, I think that everything in creation has its reason for being, including us, as nothing could ever be superfluous, and created for no reason for it existing.
We can sometimes do something not in sync with creation, or with God's aim for his creation, but creation then has a way of moving us back into sync again with it too, I think.

We are dealt some cards but that should not limit us.
It is a borderless world and we can add value when we have a positive attitude.
We can learn more from what we term as setbacks. If the going is always smooth, then the joie de vivre of life will be diminished considerably.
Immerse fully in life as everything is God created for us to have a ball but with responsibility. We can fine tune and fix small aberrations and live life as an example for others to follow. In a way, those who prayed for an early exit find purpose to live many more days, even years.
No wonder some are more than seeing stars but more as a real estate to reach first and plant their flags!

All of our cards are dealt to us for a reason, but we are given the freedom to play the hand, so given.
We cannot use our cards against God's plan, though, as his cards always belong to him, and they have something about them that keeps us linked to God, and so influences us in subtle ways, even behind the scenes of our thoughts, and actions, seemingly against him.
We are straightened out over time, by this indelible link to God.

@Shiva49 Various chances can be presented to us multiple times, though, but usually in slightly different ways.
We need to connect to life, and to others, and we are always being given chances to do this.
Connection leads to oneness, while at the same time, it also brings individual strengths into oneness too.
God is the dealer, but we can plead with him at times, to add another card to our hand, and so give us a new chance to act differently than before.

@innertalks The beauty in life is we have myriad ways to live it.
No moment is repeated but we can cherish everyone with gratitude for the opportunity given.
Even the slaves of yore had freedom of thought and respite from tyranny.
They played their cards to their hearts content till better sense prevailed and set them free.
I take snippets of moments and reflect that I did what was right and pondered if I could have done any better.
The oneness of humanity and uniqueness in each of us is the ultimate gift from our creator.
And dreams of what is to follow and then play the cards that we are dealt again.
