Americans Use One Third of Their Paid Time Off To Sleep

I recently read that Americans use 1/3 of their vacation time or PTO (paid time off) to sleep rather than take a vacation. Are Americans just that sleep-deprived that sleeping on their paid days off is their choice? Or can Americans not afford to go on vacation, so their "staycation" is sleeping in? Do you get enough sleep?

Uhm... if you sleep 8 hours a day like you're supposed to, that does add up to 1/3 of their vacation or PTO days being asleep. Somebody was trolling with that article you read.

@looeyville Sleep is overrated. I hate falling asleep, especially when travelling, in case I miss anything. "Shake off dull sloth and joyful rise to pay thy morning sacrifice".

If they have kids, I guarantee they need the sleep. Oh, my word do they need the sleep. No, I don’t get enough sleep. Pain tends to wake me up.

My husband takes off to help in the Spring with the garden if I need it or for appointments, he hardly sleeps in. However he does fall asleep in his lazy boy a lot .. lol I don't get enough sleep as I stay up to late and get up around 5:30 to 6:00 am except for Sunday hubby and I sleep in until about 7:30.

I never sleep when I'm traveling, I like to pay attention to the view.
