wood

Silly me. I took a photo of the very simple wood railings in this house when I first was looking at it. Very basic pieces of wood 125 years old and very primitive. This week I am proud of hubby and me. We made it to the pool and exercised 35 minutes each time- did that twice this week. He has such a hard time walking and then undressing and dressing again. Dominos will be closed on Thanksgiving so we will order our vegetarian pizza Wednesday night and heat it Thursday. I still need to go visit the local honey seller for the honey I need when I make the pecan pie. Hubby says we must have some form of cranberries. We'll also get some corn chips cause what's a holiday without snacking?? Maybe some hummus, too Meantime I continue to slowly battle through the story I didn't finish writing about three years ago. It's hard labor to edit your own work and to wrestle out an ending.

Sounds like a plan. I have been trying to figure out what to take to sis's, but I think I have decided on a broccoli rice casserole everybody likes. I wanted to bring that delicious spicy apple bread I made a few weeks ago, but its alot of work, and I haven't been feeling that festive. Last year I made a veggie platter which I shaped like a turkey.

That is an absolutely gorgeous set of stairs. They’re so classic! I’m making sausage balls for Thanksgiving, I think, but I’d rather have a vegetarian pizza, to be honest. However, that wouldn’t fit, so sausage balls it is.

@Shivram59 Generally from what I have seen older wood has the wood grain showing. Sometimes its not perfect because back then the machines and saws were not as good as now. I don't know if this helps.

Our neighbour has wood railings around his house, but the wood is not old. Still it is beautiful. They also have wooden set of stairs. The picture you have shared above looks wonderful, but how can I know whether the wood is old ??

Thanks @Deepizzaguy. I loved all the wrought iron in New Orleans when we visited.

I'm glad you and hubby went to the pool. Your Thanksgiving choices sound good. I can't wait to have a home cooked meal and some company. I'm so blessed.
