For those of you that were fans of the TV show The Office, there is a spinoff/sequel called The Paper now airing on WKYC Channel 3 at 8:30 pm on Mondays. It can also be viewed on Peacock.
The mockumentary/sitcom takes place in Toledo, Ohio. The same documentary crew that followed the employees of the Dunder Mifflin Scranton, Pennsylvania, branch from 2005-2013 is filming the new group.
Remember Bob Vance of Vance Refrigeration? At the beginning of the show he explains how Dunder Mifflin had gone out of business and its trademark was sold to Enervate in 2019. Enervate manufactures office supply paper products and Softees Toilet Paper.
Enervate also owns the newspaper, the Toledo Truth Teller. a struggling publication. I was happy to see a familiar face from The Office. Oscar Nunez is continuing his character, Oscar Martinez, as an accountant for Enervate; and he is not happy that the film crew is continuing to document his daily activities.
Ned Sampson (Domhnall Gleeson) is starting his job as Editor in Chief in the hopes of reviving the Toledo Truth Teller to its former success.
I was not impressed with the first couple of episodes; but I have read that it improves and the series has been picked up for another season. If you liked The Office, you might want to check out The Paper.

I guess it might be a wait and see thing. So little of new sitcoms interest me, and sometimes it feels like people are just resorting to easy money rather than trying to be original anymore. Best of luck to the series. I likely won't be watching. I haven't found a single new sitcom worth watching in at least a decade.

Not since Friends and The Office have I seen anything worth watching. I'm watching Stumble. I think it's going to tank as well.

@porwest I never watched Seinfeld. How do you feel about Big Bang. My hubby loved that show.

We loved The Office here . . . I think we went through the whole series twice during the pandemic
. I am sure we will eventually get to The Paper . . . but we are often late in watching a series. I was in the printing business, so it's so crazy to me that the paper industry even makes it on a show

@LindaOHio Probably so! The Office was hysterical - none of the other shows that tried to mimic their style was ever that funny. But since it's related to The Office, I'll give it a chance too.

The Paper, I don't think, will ever be another Office...I"m giving it a chance though.

I never saw The Office, even though I recognize some of the cast through all of those memes on Facebook.

I like The Office. No spin off or remake, please.

It's supposed to be a comedy. So far it's not very funny. Reviews say it does get better.
