My 32 year old daughter has been engaged for something like 8 years. They've been living together for three. I guess she finally realized she CAN live with him and because they want children they have set a wedding date. Less than one year's notice so it's rush, rush, rush.
Venue has been chosen and paid for and today we bought a wedding dress! I'm so excited.
My younger daughter is her maid of honour but couldn't make it today as she was heading south with her boyfriend (keeping my fingers crossed they come back engaged), but I was able to catch her at the airport to Facetime with her so she could see her sister in her wedding dress and watch her ring the "I said yes to the dress" bell. I was so thrilled they could share that moment together. I don't think my younger daughter would have liked sitting around watching her sister try on something like 10 dresses, and then repeat some over again until she could make up her mind. Four hours!
I am so excited. I have already shed quite a few tears. Imagine how many I will shed on the wedding day. August 28, 2026. I wish I could share the picture with you all but we are keeping it under wraps (though we took tons of pictures).
Next will come the grandkids I hope!!!

That’s wonderful! I can’t imagine how exciting that was for you! When my sister got married she met her husband in August, started dating him in November, got engaged In February, and got married in July. I was like, this is fast!
Here’s hoping your other daughter gets her happy ever after soon too!

My younger daughter has been with her boyfriend just over a year. About 6 months ago they went on a tropical vacation with friends. They were on a cabana and the friend told Michael to prentend he was proposing to my daughter and told my daughter to act surprised. So they have this picture of a fake proposal. I'm hoping that they'll do this again, without tell her, and it be the real thing. I've heard them talk about marriage a few times so it is not out of the realm of possibiity, especially since she is 29 and he wants 3-4 kids. These girls gotta get on it and make me a grandma!
