Wind is breaking over Ireland.

It’s windy today, very windy, so windy that ferries and planes are cancelled, parks shut and people’s gardens have been rearranged and not in a good way. On the up side, no heavy lorries can trundle through town to and from the harbour, and it should all be over by the time I’m boarding a plane for Manchester on Thursday.
But let’s not worry ourselves with the weather - let it worry about itself. What has really disheartened me on this bleak Tuesday morning is a blazing sign at the door of the supermarket that flashes and flickers at all who enter, appealing to us to spend, spend, spend. “Twenty days to go!” it reads. Isn’t it depressing that people are sitting in offices being paid to pollute our minds and increase our anxiety with such things.
I’ll be commemorating the Incarnation - of course I will - but I’ll certainly not be fussing over Christmas.

There's too much commercialism about Christmas these days...and people get themselves all stressed out.

That's the hallmark of a Capitalistic system unfortunately. I'll wish you Merry Christmas and not expect a dime in return.
