Australia has decided to ban under-16s from using the social media and that ban comes into effect from midnight today. Tiktok, reddit, facebook, X , Tiktok and other major social media platforms are expected to enforce this ban and failure to do this will attract a heavy penalty.

the prob. is that these kids have no life in the real world. they live online, and that is their reality. They have no ability to judge truth from fiction. There has to be a way to get them outside, interaction with others, having experiences, getting exercise. This 'ban' won't work. A kid will join a site using his parent's name, for example.

That's why it will be difficult to implement

Won't work. From what I've read about Australia, there's a lot of things outside that can kill you, ironically also in one's home. Kangaroos appear to be over grown mice who can box.

I hope they are successful. Social media has become extremely influential and dangerous, especially to our youth.
