Loon rescued by a stranger in Watertown Maine after being trapped in a frozen pond

A stranger assisted an employee with Maine Audubon to free a loon who was trapped in a pond in Waterville Maine on Sunday/ The loon was not able to fly away under its own power since the East Pond which is located near Watertown Maine was frozen due to the cold weather in the area. After the animal control officer and the stranger removed the loon from the frozen pond, the loon was taken to a rehabilitation center in Freedom Maine where it is hopeful that the loon will be able to fly safely once again.
