Should I clean out my email?

December 13, 2025 3:21pm CST
I have a total of over 118,000 pages of emails in my main account. I have just neglected to keep it cleaned and organized over the years. Is it even necessary? I mean, what could happen if you don't clean out your email? And say I did want to clean it out, what is the easiest way to delete many emails at once? I have some that I need to keep but most of them can go.

My 517 unopened seems very small in comparison. But I just check my email through my phone only, so I just do it one at a time. The long way.

I will get a whole new email before I do it one at a time.

I delete mine one at a time. That will take you a long time to delete yours.

My email is still less than yours, if it will slow down my email then I will just delete the message.

If you don't clean out your email, you risk overwhelming your inbox, which can lead to missing important messages and prevent you to send or receive new emails.

@AngelNelson I know, my niece did the same as you do and finally she missed important emails from her boss.

@LadyDuck Do you know of a way to clear it out without having to delete one by one?

Interesting, I didn't know that.
