Wythenshawe Christmas.

We took our granddaughter to Wythenshawe Hall today for a Victorian Christmassy thing - I hated it but everyone else enjoyed it so I just shut up and smiled. I just want to strangle people who dress up as elves and assume everyone loves it. The building is rather special, an indication of how well-to-do Manchester was in the 1800s, with so many lordly manors replete with follies and dovecotes. It was a freezing cold day, but I found a hot radiator to sit on that no-one else seemed to know about, then off I went to visit my wine guy to procure some bottles of Armenian wine to take round to our daughter’s house.

@thehorse These are what the rich used to indicate that they had money to burn while their servants ran about barefoot back in the day.

I do not mind real people dressed up as much as I mind animatronic devices that move, play carols and other wise frolic. I would have found the radiator as well.

Or in other words Christmas in a simpler time to be enjoyed without technology,
