Merriam Webster's Word of the Year is "SLOP"

I only knew the word "slop" from "pig slop" like you feed to pigs, a mixture of food leftovers in a sloppy mess. But the online dictionary Merriam Webster has a new definition for "slop" as follows: "digital content of low quality that is produced usually in quantity by means of artificial intelligence," and said it reflected the "absurd videos, off-kilter advertising images, cheesy propaganda, fake news that looks pretty real, junky AI-written books" that have invaded people's social media feeds this year." (per MSN.com) Had you heard this usage of the word slop before? Will you use it now that you've learned it?

I just think of “slop” lately as the words coming out of the mouths of politicians.

Yes, I've heard it used in conjunction with the crap posted by AI. Most of it isn't worth watching.
