Yeah, yeah, I’m up early again. I get to blame my niece again.
I’m going over to Lexington to have lunch with her and take her some presents from the family. Meanwhile, here’s another song to boogie to…and I KNOW Linda’s gonna like this one!
Boogie On Reggae Woman - Stevie Wonder
I’m glad I have two lists. If I didn’t have Linda to rely on I would’ve picked this one myself!
Yes, it’s Stevie Wonder, who knows how to boogie, funk, rock, and even sing ballads. He went to town on this one, playing all of the instruments except the congas. Lyrically, he’s showing the naughty intent of someone in the dance club, looking for sex.
And ooh, how good it is!

I’d like to see both of us fall deeply in love:

I hadn't heard this one before. I think I told you that hubby and I, when we were dating, went to a small club in Cleveland to see Stevie. He was so young he had to have a certificate from the city to perform.

It seems like he’s been around forever, but that’s because he started so young. Back in the the “Fingertips” days he was billed as “Little Stevie Wonder.”

Hubby recognized synthesizer immediately as being Stevie Wonder then when he heard the voice he thought he was wrong. Neither of us knew this song.

I’m a little surprised, because this was top five hit material. But then, what gets played by Stevie anymore….
