It's been a long day without my coffee

I had to do lab work this morning & That meant I had to do without my hot chocolate & that mess's up my whole day, so I did everything I had to do & got back home, But I made sure I got enough O-sugar drinks 8 jugs of minute made juice's 60 bottles of my Ice sparkling drinks diff favors & a 40 case of drinking water so I'm good there. I also got me some thermal pants & another thick fuzzy robe so I can get rid of the 1's I don't want I got the cat a scratching mat with a ball she can play with so she's happy now. When I got back home I checked my messages on the computer & seen my sugar Dr had left me a message saying "Dr. Shoemaker reviewed your labs and said everything looks okay." So that means he's happy with how the new meds are doing that he put me on "Jardiace" so that makes me happy as well, here's the results the lab work says. SODIUM-139 It's in the middle POTASSIUM 4.2 It's in the middle CHLORIDE 108 it's a shy over CARBON DIOXIDE 25 It's in the middle GLUCOSE 132 it was on the high side from 105 but it beats where it's been. BUN 16 It's in the middle CREATININE 0.7 It's in the middle "GLOMERULAR FILTRATION RATE/1.73 SQ M.PREDICTED IN SERUM, PLASMA OR BLOOD BY calc Value 94 So I have to say As long as he's happy with my lab work I can't complain with him so I guess this is another medication I'll have to be on for life & live with what I'm dealt. That's why I got stocked up on my drinks cause that's the main thing my meds do is makes me very thirsty Even though I drink a lot of water it still doesn't help, it just makes me more thirsty. What do you drink when water isn't enough ?

I'm glad your labs came back well. I like to drink diet pop when I'm really thirsty. I can't drink my Diet Coke anymore; so I drink diet 7up and diet ginger ale.

@2ndchances24 I'm glad your insulin use is less. Yes I know aspartame is bad; but it's hard to just drink water.

Have you thought to look at the contents of them ? cause there just as bad as a regular soda. It's been a roller coaster with my sugar & since I've been on the new medication it's been a game changer where I don't have to use hardly any insulin through out the day like I use to.

Last August I was hospitalized for 4 days. I had a very low potassium. I could hsrdly walk. I was well tajen care of the nurse and my meds are sufficient. A day before I would be dircharged from hospital, I had my lab test and it turned to be normal. To maintain my potassium supply, I drink cocoa everyday.

" I drink cocoa everyday" I'm not suppose to cause it rises my blood sugar, but now that I'm on Jardiace it keeps it in target range, but I just have a 16 oz mug that last me most the morning.

Happy to hear that your labs came back good. There is nothing worse than waiting and wondering about medical results. You are good and stocked up now. If I get tired of water then I drink Gatorade or pop.

@2ndchances24 That is a good idea. I freeze bottles of water then put them in a cooler when we are headed rock hunting, panning for gold or whatever. I put one in the cup holder so it can melt some and be ready for me to drink.

@velvet53 I didn't use to drink water like I do now, like a fish out of water, I now drink bottle water & it has to be ICE COLD, & that's cause of all the water they gave me while I was in the hospital.

Yea but I go through so much of my drinks that they don't last long, but I have to really stock up on them that it takes like a good 100 $ to do. I switch from water to my min made no sugar drinks, to my ICE sparkle O sugar, & that's all I drink through the day. I freeze like 1/2 a glass or 1/2 a bottle of water where when I get water I pour unfroze water over it & same with all my other drinks, 1/2 of it is froze & I pour unfroze over it to keep it cold for a few hours.

I'm glad I have a awesome Dr who has help me to get where I am with this. I never thought I'd say that about any Dr but I have to say he has been great, at 1st when I started with all this I didn't think he would be any better than any other Dr but I have to say I'm glad he's not.

That's good news when the doctor us happy with your resutls. I hate when I have to fast for blood work and can't have my coffee. My day always starts with 2 cups of coffee and then I switch to water. Occasionally I'll have a diet soda but hardly ever. Water does the trick for me
