Strange dog has made a habit of easing its waste at my entrance

There is this strange thing going on at my gate and am not amused at all. I am in fact at wits-end on what step I should take. A seemingly stray dog has made a habit of easing itself at or next to my homestead entrance at least thrice a week. In the fast few days I covered the waste with dry soil or ash but I later on opted to removing it and disposing in a nearby pit. But I am ow finding the routine tedious and difficult. I have thought of placing poisoned food so that it is tempted to consume during its nightly visits and die, but again I feel so sorry for it – maybe it has innocent dependants. So I change my mind about getting rid of it. Despite making my entrance clean every day, the stray canine continues to dirty it with its waste. I have never found it in the process of easing, my be I could shout some sense at it and make it aware that whatever it does is unacceptable. What can I do to get rid of this situation without killing or harming the stray animal?

If you are not against it visiting you can provide food for it in that area. They won't potty where they eat or sleep.

Please do not harm this animal. Could there be a specific reason he does this?

I pity it so much, I do not think I can harm it. I too wonder why it does so.

I will just ignore it for a while. It might change its mind

@SIDIKIMPOLE In that case, maybe Eva's idea is the best.

@JudyEv Yes, I left some food at the gate yesterday night and in the morning, the food container and the food are nowhere to be seen. There's no waste, luckily. I suspect the dog carried the food dish away after eating the food. It was a plastic dish, light enough to be carried away by a dog.

My gate is just open, most of the time. The dog leaves its waste on the outside side next to the road.
