Strange Lunch Outing

Hey everyone, how are you all doing? We (me and my husband) went out to lunch at one of our local favorites because it had been quite a while since we had been there. If you try to go on a Friday, you may not even get in because they are so busy. Anyways - we were in the middle of eating our lunch and the power went out. I had never been in a restaurant and had the power go out before. Have you? It was out for about 20 minutes before it finally did come back...It did get a little more empty during the power outage, but once it came back on it filled up all over again. We also wondered how we would pay if the power was out - I guess just cash? What if someone didn't have cash because they always pay with a card. Anyways - that was a very interesting lunch! If it loads - photo is mine - winter a couple years ago. It's currently snowing and may look like this soon. Boo! It wasn't supposed to snow till Saturday.

I don’t think I’ve ever been in a restaurant when the power went out. I do carry cash, but it seems like a lot of people don’t anymore. That would have put them in quite the pickle!

Well that is good if you haven't.... yes that is true, or maybe you carry some cash but not enough for a meal like that. Usually we don't carry enough to cover a meal like we had...we would have been okay yesterday but that's only because of having a little extra money from birthdays/early christmas gifts.

When I was living in the Philippines power outages are quite common. But I can understand the shock. As now that I have moved to UK I have only ever seen a power outage twice and that’s before the back up generator kicks in.

It would have been okay if it hadn't, then it wouldn't have got so busy and I wouldn't have almost had a panic attack.

I've only been in a grocery store when the power went out. It's supposed to s**w here today. All the white crap melted yesterday.

Oh really? That's interesting. I was in a walmart once that lost power. They had generators though so luckily could check out. Sorry about the snow...we got some yesterday but none of it stuck and then it's been raining all day today
