In India smog content is so high in Lucknow that India v South Africa match was cancelled

Oh dear! That smog must be really bad for a cricket match to be cancelled.

Yes that match had to be canceled. I think certain venues in North India should not have matches during the extreme winters. Visibility problems do come up. The matches should have been scheduled down South.

I didn’t think any country had smog as bad as China.

Yes I remember watching the match live on TV. Many times what happens is the picture that we see on the TV screen and the ones that are actually happening on a cricket field are a bit diverse. For example, if we see slightly clear outfield, it doesn't mean it's the same even for the players. It is actually worse than what we see on the TV screens. Why I mentioned this is to underline the fact that even on TV screens the smog was so vividly visible, that even the floodlights weren't visible clearly. And the smog had spread on the entire ground. Any chance of any kind of play was zero. And I think it was the correct decision to call off the match for the safety of the players.

Good idea not to play a match was cancelled due to excessive fog.

It should be written as "Lucknow" has fog, where I live in india does not have smog or even strong winter.
