Elise Stefanik is OUT

Wow! NY Representative Elise Stefanik has ended her campaign for NY governor and also announced that she will not seek re-election to Congress. I'm shocked. I mean I'm not shocked that she suspended the campaign for governor but I *am* about leaving Congress. She was like the #3 in GOP leadership there. Then Trump nominated her to be Ambassador to the United Nations. Then he rescinded that because the margin in the House was so slim that Republicans couldn't afford to potentially lose that seat. At that point she threw her hat into the ring for NY governor but she had already beclowned herself and she never had a viable shot at winning anyway. So now she has announced that she is out at the end of her term. In her statement she made mention of spending time with her family and wanting to do so more in the future. She did not rule out a future return to public life. Oh well. I wish she did.
