Third world country to become developed: Dream of Kenya’s president

The president of Kenya has lately been obsessed with the dream of transforming Kenya, a third world country, to a developed country status before the end of his tenure. Quoting Singapore and Malaysia, Kenyan president insists that Kenya has more than all it takes for it to be transformed into a developed country. But, logically, is the dream valid? My answer would be “no.” Kenya I one of he third world country pinned down by corruption, tribalism, nepotism and a wide gap between the “haves” and the “have nots”. It is a country where a family owns 50,000 acres of land while another is totally landless and the leadership sees no problem. It is a country where one owns a vehicle worth Ksh 50 million (Approx. 400,000 USD) while another can hardly afford Ksh. 50 (USD 0.4) to pay bus fare to work and has to walk 20+kilometers to and from work. It is a country where one owns an apartment with over 20 bedrooms 19 of which are hardly used while another is homeless in the street. A country with over jobless 500,000 graduates (I am part of the number). A country where quality education is almost unaffordable and healthcare is worse… How on earth can a president who is incapable of correcting all these, promise to make his country a developed or rather first world country?

Do the wealthy and educated folks tend to live in the larger cities?

It is not likely, no, but I sure wish it was. Everyone from Kenya I have met here are just the most wonderful people.
