Merry? Christmas

I seem to remember I left you myLotters off with those two guys who had been in my house having found a place. No such luck. However, they are not here anymore. When I told the hospital that when the one in the hospital got out, he was not coming here. And then he had a huge screaming something and they kicked him out, without fixing the problem. So, the pair are in a hotel. Earlier in the week the people who asked me to help with them came with the kids, and the sane one of the guys and they got most of the stuff out of my house. Yeah! I ran out of PT 2 weeks ago, not really the number of times I could go, but the time it needed to be taken care of in. Thanksgiving I went to my brother's for the meal and some visiting. On the way home I stopped and visited with the roommate. Then on the way home, I was about 3 blocks from the house and I ran out of gas. Needless to say, this did not make me happy. I texted my across the street neighbor to see if she or her husband could pick me up. No, they were out of town, but their son was there. He came and picked me up. Sweet kid. Oh, and just so you know, he was born after his folks moved in across the street. In fact, his mom was pregnant with his next older sister. In fact, Connie and I had just driven up and we could see several people's silhouettes including hers. I stared and then told Connie that I thought I had worked with her. Not in the same unit, but in the same building. So, it was like having a neighbor who I knew. I would sometimes wander over and talk to her husband, sometimes if she were out, but we always waved. My brother came and we got gas in the car and I went right over to the nearby grocery store's gas pumps. In this case, they were across the street. All good, right? The last PT appointment was the next week, first week of December. Then nothing for a week until my pain doctor appointment on the 18th. All's good, talked to the nurse practitioner, he said he'd get the PT order out and let the doctor, who was the only one who could do the prescription for my pain meds. I'm in a good mood. The day was beautiful, in the 70's. I pull out of the parking lot onto a street called Medical Parkway. There's a 3 way stop sign at 36th, another 3 way stop sign at 37th street. To my right, a block beyond the buildings is one of Austin's north/south streets. Since I need to go north, there is no way I will do a left turn on that street without a light. Besides, I was suppose to go by the vet's office and pick up flea meds for the dog. Because I only get on 38th street, for any reason, is really only if it will be the fastest way. So, after the red light changed, not being in a rush I didn't floor it when it turned green. The traffic was getting heavy. The left turn lane from 38th street onto Medical Parkway was full and so was the left lane going straight. I kind of remember the first car in the left lane was pretty big, but hey, just keeps me from seeing the smaller cars on the other side. (I didn't think these things out, just observed.) That short bit of 38th street has a dedicate right turn lane for traffic to go north on Medical Parkway. As I am entering the right lane of the cars going straight and then I'm flying in the air! I think that 'car' picked up my front end because I was now on 38th street, going west. My hood has popped up some. A young lady asked if I were okay. No, but yes... I was calling 911. Apparently more than myself, others had already called. The operator asked who I was, and I told her "some a$$h0le had just run a red light." Then she asked if I wanted EMS. Yes. The most I moved after the car got stopped, was to put it in park. And older couple came up and wanted me to roll down my passenger window. Nope not rolling down, I sort of waved then I did a kind of gesture and the woman stepped over and opened the door. I had unlocked it for them. Of course almost everything fell out. They asked if I were okay. I told them I didn't know. But I was not sure if I had broken ribs or collar bone. So, I still stayed where I was kind of half leaning on my door. My car was still running, but I could not swear if the car was alright, it is old, I bet the gal's insurance is going to total it. I think she was the guilty party. Then give me a penny on the dollar for it. Rather than have the gurney get me, I thought I could walk that far. I think I told you guys that I could barely walk 90 feet, before the accident. I had an EMS guy on one side of me and I think a fire department guy on the other to walk me the twenty feet from my door to the ambulance's door. The first step was hard, the second one made me pull my leg up by my jeans. I had x-rays done and thankfully nothing was broken. However, I have enormous bruising from the seat belt! So, how has your December treating you?

Good grief! I hope you're feeling better. You just get one problem solved and something else happens. Everything seems fine here. Pretty and I got haircuts and I'm happy with mine. Nothing happening here for Christmas... I'm making chicken for Christmas dinner.

I don't know what I'll eat for Christmas if I don't go to my friend's. I'm going to hazard a guess I will have some wheels by then, probably rental. On the other hand, I am hurting really bad today and my blood pressure is all over the place. My neck and back have arrived at the pain party. I really wish I knew what exactly happened.

@DaddyEvil I take both hydrocodone and gabapentin. I know a lot of people seem to have a bad reaction to gabapentin, but I don't. I also don't know if it helps, but it isn't hurting. However, right now it looks like I'll be alone. I hope I can get the car out of the lot has been taken to. Even if it just sits in my driveway it isn't accruing more fees. I don't know what I'll be eating right now, probably not anything tasty... but I got eggnog ice cream...

@ElicBxn I hope you won't be by yourself on Christmas. And you'll have something delicious to eat for Christmas dinner. You usually do have strange aches and pains after a wreck that can't be explained. I hope you have some good pain killers.

That’s an awful lot to deal with! I’m glad to hear you didn’t break anything. December has been nice, but I think I’m going to have to take my dog to the vet. While I was out of town she stayed with my best friend. She came back eating and drinking fine, but her “output” has looked odd. I know you really wanted to know that. I’ll have to wait until January though to have enough money.

The day I rescued the kitten [Kitten? What Kitten?] the sane guy came over for reasons, I think he just wanted to see the dog one more time. Then he missed the last bus and it was the coldest day so far. I asked if he wanted me to drive over and take him home or come back and spend the night. He opted to spend the night. Like I said, it was the sane one. However, he pointed out that the dog, who is 17, had a lump on his face and a lump on his side. I called the vet and got him in... this was part of why I needed to go to the vet. The lump over his right size upper lip the vet thinks is an abscessed tooth. She took him back and did a needle thing on his side and it is some kind of fatty thing. He came home with 2 pills and I gave him his last one of the short time pills. I also got all the other pills cut in half the day before the accident. I couldn't find one of the pill cutters, but managed it. I don't think my right arm would've been happy if it had to do it after the accident. So, busy month...

It is rid of the crazy one. I even offered to allow the sane one to stay, but he apparently agreed to stay with the crazy one years ago, when he was less crazy. I just wasn't willing to put up with the crazy one screaming at the sane one. The crazy one doesn't seem to like women telling him what to do, so... this woman didn't have to let him back in her house.

Right now I'm mostly hoping I am able to get a car. The friend I was going to celebrate Christmas with got the flu. Her brother who goes out a lot might have brought it home then my friend's sister got it, then she got it and she thinks the following day her brother got it. Now the whole family has it... *sniff* Maybe we could aim for New Years...

I've learned that soft tissue always hurt worse right after the accident.
