I am still a bit upset over the horrendous death of Rob Reiner and his wife, by the hands of his own son, talk about a bad seed...Anyway, Apparently Conan had been having a bad year, and thought the Christmas party would cheer him up. He also did not adovcate calling 911 on Nick with the best of intentions of course, but I am sure he is questioning his choices, realizing if he had followed through, there is a chance Rob and wife would not have been stabbed to death that night. However, if 911 was called, they probably would have released Nick to go home with his parents, and not kept overnight anywhere, unless the Reiners didn't want him around. However, knowing their personalities I think they would have opted to bring him home anyway. Poor Conan is probably full of regrets and second guesses though...he will never look at Christmas the same way. I feel really bad for him.

I don't know that side of the story. It was a shock to learn their son killed his parents.

Rob Reiner was so well known, and a very nice guy from all reports.

I know that it's often hard to take decisions, but I am sure he regrets not having called 911.

I am sure. However, I don't know that it would have made a difference.

@snowy22315 - No, it would have not made a difference, but he surely continues to think "what IF".

You just can’t control other people’s actions. I’ve heard so much about the Reiner’s handled their son wrong for years. Ultimately, it’s no one’s fault other than Nick, and I hope everyone, including Conan, can realize that someday.

@snowy22315 Exactly. I don’t know what people could have expected them to do differently.

Ah there are always decisions that we should have taken but we don't. It is fate, I think.

The story is devastating. I have been following it as well.
