Letters on some doors

There are times when I am climbing up to the 3rd floor and I see letters on every door. That's when I know it is some kind of universal announcement like fire extinguisher inspection, pool opening, parking lot paving, etc. Then there are times when there are letters on only certain doors. That typically is for lease renewal, late rent, or some other individual complaint.
Yesterday I noted letters on 2 doors. . . including Smokey McSmokerson's up here. They didn't move in until like March so it wouldn't be about lease renewal. My guess is that it is about late rent. His mother was out of work for a few months. He doesn't work. None of them seem to have much money.
I don't like to wish bad things on people but I really hope it is about late rent. I would LOVE to see them get kicked out of here. I don't have any issue with the mother or her sister. I rarely see them. He is absolutely disgusting with all of the smoking and spitting. He's out there on the landing right now hacking away. He sounds like he has tuberculosis.

“Merry Christmas, here’s your eviction notice.”
One bad thing about apartments is you can’t choose your neighbors. That’s true of a house, too, but at least you have more room to stay away from unsavory neighbors. And, if they’re too much of a pain, you can put up a privacy fence like I did.
