Harris County Precinct 8 Constable's Office deputy Lozano was on his way to assist another officer on the Gulf Freeway in Houston Texas on Friday overnight when a SUV flipped on its side and caught fire with a woman driver trapped inside. Deputy Lozano ran toward the burning auto in an attempt to rescue the woman driver who was inside of the burning auto by using his police baton to break her window so that he could pull her through the window and get her away from the danger zone safely. Firefighters arrived to douse the fire while an ambulance took the woman driver to a local hospital to be treated for multiple burns over her body. She is expected to make a full recovery. I am sure that Deputy Lozano will be awarded by his superiors at the police headquarters with an award for his actions of saving the life of a woman driver who needed his assistance. There is something to be said for windows that will wind down rather than electric windows.

You are right since it takes courage to risk a life saving someone who was in a fire.

So scary. If the rescuers didn't arrive on time, the woman is burned alive. Is the driver drunk?

According to the police report, they believe the driver was going through a personal problem related to a loss of a family member who passed away recently.
