So, 2025 was not a great year for me ….
I had a serious fall in April which resulted in an extremely bad break of my left upper arm …..I won’t go into details as many of your have followed my journey .complications have meant that I am still off work. I don’t have a lot of power in my left arm and very little grip.
I have spent only days at my happy place….my caravan by the sea ….i missed that so very much….
The end of the year saw the whole family going down with the most horrible bug….
The Granddaughter, myself, The Mister and my Mom having to stay in bed for a couple of weeks, only for it to come back just when we thought we were getting better.
I learnt of the death of a very dear friend that I gad had known for 46 years ….he had not been ill and it was very unexpected and came out of the blue …..no time for goodbyes.
At the beginning of October my cousin had a serious accident ….he was on a neighbours shed, doing repairs, when he had a fall. He fell directly on his head.
His head is smashed in, he has had several operations, the last being just yesturday , as there is regularly build up of fluid that has to be drained away. They keep fitting drains and it seems fine but then the build up starts again. He has had to have part of his skull removed and a metal plate fitted to replace it. He also has had a shunt fitted.
He has had many infections, and three months later it is still touch and go if he survives ….
He is now awake and seems to understand what is being said.
The week before Christmas my Moms 90 year old neighbour …..who I have posted about several times ….was taken into hospital.
She is home now but still is not really better….time will tell if she is okay ….
So, dear friends you can see that 2025 was not the best for me.
I admit that I have felt very very low, which is not like me at all.
I didn’t really feel like posting and I hope you understand that.
However, I must mention @AmbiePam and @DaddyEvil as their thoughts and messages meant a great deal to me.
Thank you , dear friends,
I’m looking forward to 2026, which I’m hoping will bring happiness and new adventures for us all ….
Happy New Year…..XXX

I'm sorry your 2025 wasn't as good as you'd hoped but many good things did come about during the year, anyway. You started posting on myLot and met new friends, had a new-to-you support group who care about you and your family.
You DID get to spend time at the caravan, even if it wasn't as much time as you'd wish. You, your mom, your hubby and your granddaughter ARE all getting better now, even if it did take a long time.
I'm very sorry about losing your friend. Some things just happen and we don't know why they happen.
I hope your neighbor and your brother get better soon.
Yes, I do understand that feeling... It has happened to me at times, too. Then, I miss friends and come back to see how everyone is doing and get back into posting again as if I'd never left the site.
Merry belated Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Yes, you point out lots of positives…..and I am determined to be more positive this year.
I’m sure. Barbara, my Moms. Neighbour will be better soon .
As for my cousin, Chris, it is very much a day to day situation. He is one of the best people and it’s dreadful knowing how much he is suffering …,

@DaddyEvil I do try to be positive which is partly why I felt I had to disappear from here for a while …I was so low and didn’t want to bring that here with me.
I wonder what is going through Chris’ head. Obviously he is not able to speak yet but does move his eyes in the direction of the person talking to him so his brain us is functioning somehow ….

@Traceyjayne He may not be thinking anything but just reacting to the voice.

I am so sorry, you must have been going through Hell.
. I thought you just got busy with life, back to work, and didn't get to post. Ironically, an acquaintance of mine slipped on the ice in a northern city where I think he was visiting relatives for Christmas, and is now probably going to need surgery. I feel sorry for both of you.
He broke his arm too by the way.

@Traceyjayne I hope so, yes they did take too long to operate on you, and also to give you therapy.

I did of just disappear overnight ….i feel for your friend …..I think if they had operated on my arm I would have recovered months ago . I pray. His recovery is quicker and less complicated than mine.

I'm so sorry that 2025 was such a rough year for you. Just know that you have a lot of friends here and a ton of support. It's what got me through when my husband passed away. I hope 2026 is much better and brings you much happiness and health.
