The Challenge of keeping calm

A few days back someone posted on a social networking platform a question 'How to keep calm when someone disrespects you?'
The question is not ordinary. Neither it is out of life's syllabus. And a burning one. Keeping one's calm when someone disrespects one either alone or in public is a disrespect, nevertheless and the feeling it ensues is something that one cannot avoid. Some people would say that 'it is their problem' so leave it to them. Some would say 'keeping quiet would mean submission'.
When it comes to keeping calm, it doesn't mean keeping quiet. It means one has to respond and not react. It comes with a lot of self control and practice of silent sitting.
For someone who doesn't have this habit, what would be the way?

Staying calm even after being disrespected isn't easy. Of we can retaliate silently by avoiding the person. If they exceed limit we have to strike back with words but not lose our temper.

You have to learn this habbit if you want to learn how to be calm. For some people it's harder to learn than others, but it can be learned.
