The Innocent Wife
Amy Lloyd
Imagine a guy who’s been behind bars since he was barely out of high school—Dennis has been serving time for a crime he swears he didn’t commit. Enter Sam: a determined believer and a crew of internet sleuths who think they can prove his innocence. Along the way, Sam falls hard—both for the mystery and for the man at the center of it. As they crisscross the country chasing clues, the lines between right and wrong, love and obsession, and truth and lies blur into a puzzle that won’t let go. This is a slow-burn psychological thriller that leaves just enough loose ends for you to wonder what comes next.
This book is a wickedly smart ride. It’s the kind of story that hands you a bunch of flawed characters and basically says, "Go ahead, pick your poison." Spoiler-free take? You’re not supposed to trust these people—and that’s half the fun. The writing keeps you on your toes, and just when you think you’ve got it figured out, it winks and flips the script.
No big spoilers here, but let’s just say if you like shows like YOU or Dexter—where no one’s hands are exactly clean—you’ll be in for a treat. Five stars for making me uncomfortable in all the right ways and leaving me eager for more.
