I had planned on being productive today, but my body had other opinions. I woke up feeling not great, so I took a nap… and then another nap-adjacent activity called puttering around the house. Mostly reading. Very ambitious stuff.
I had a defrosted applewood-smoked bacon pork loin in the fridge, so I tossed that in the oven and called it a plan. Dinner ended up being the pork loin, broccoli cheddar rice, creamed corn, and seasoned French fries.
The kids generally refuse to eat the rice like it personally offended them, so I made sure there were fries involved. We also have an “extra” kid this weekend. Well, not really extra, since her child is off camping… but still. Anyway, the bonus kid ate only French fries, which is perfectly acceptable. At least she ate. Fries count. I don’t make the rules.
So that was dinner at our house. What was for dinner at yours?

As long as she ate something she will not be hungry. My youngest son did not like a lot of things. So in order to get him to eat something I fixed him a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. To this day he loves P&J sandwiches.

Vince made kataifi prawns last night as an appetiser. He was trying out the recipe so we invited friends over as guinea pigs. After that, we just had a pizza and played cards.
