Winter is So Dreary and It Makes Me Sleep More

Not that I didn't already go to bed entirely too early, but Winter makes things even worse. It gets dark so early and it's so dreary and cold out that all I want to do is curl up under the weighted blanket and sleep. Yes, I suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Does Winter make you sad too?

I’ve noticed it staying light out a little longer this past week. It seemed like forever since it had been 6pm and it was still somewhat light outside. I think I’m just so relieved not to have to beat the heat in winter that it could get dark even earlier, and I’d be okay with it. I did get a free Happy Lamp, and meant to try it to see if it made a positive difference, but I have no idea where it is now.

Oh yes, the Happy Light is a wonderful invention. I need to get mine back out and use it. Thanks for the reminder. It really works.

SAD has a different meaning every Feb 14 here in the Philippines... it means Single Awareness Day. Lol! I hope it makes you laugh a little. But don't worry, nothing is permanent, it will just passes you by. God bless.

Winter makes me sad since I am not used to the sun going down at 5 or 6 o' clock.

Not sad...just frustrated. I want it to be light until 9 pm. And I hate the cold and s**w. I hope you use your sunlight lamp.

Depends on the day. Unlike other states, Florida is unique in that it can be flirting with 80 gorgious and comfortable out, and the next day rainy, windy, cold, gloomy and all and all miserable. So I don't suffer from it as much as someone who deals with continious cold day and out for months on end. It can get to me on real bad days, though. The ne thing I don't do, is overeat. But, I do feel more drained some days. More than usual.
