Some schools as employers are really mean and rude

I had a job interview yesterday at this one school, for a teaching job and the person said they will call me for sure today.
Hours passed, nothing. I sent an email at 2.30 p.m., saying i have other job offer but i want to work with them and if they contact me, i would appreciate it.
I received half an hour ago an answer from them (i wonder, what were they doing the whole day), saying they wish me luck with this other offer and that people are still applying for this position. It was an email from the secretary, not from a headmaster, which i hope it's not her own answer or maybe it is.
So, why telling me they will call me today and that they want me to start working even this week. All lies, which they serve to everyone?
I was shocked, mylotters. I had a bad experience with this school 4 years ago but i thought to give another chance but no, rooten egg stays rotten egg. Maybe i shouldn't but i answered that i am glad to accept the offer from other school cause i want to work with serious people and with people who are holding their word and i wish them all the best. I blocked this address and i will never apply there again.
Also, there is no other school. I lied, thinking they are sincerely interested in hiring me. I now realise they aren't interested and they behaved like i had an interview with myself yesterday. Luckily, i have another job interview tomorrow but, it's working with autistic young people, which is hard and their application process is until the end of january so, i believe they won't speed up the hiring process as well. I wish they surprise me in a good way, of course.
What a day. It's just sad that i had the same experience with one more school last week and i was also promised they will call me. they didn't, i thanked them for not picking me and received a confused email they are still interviewing others but will have me in mind and, of course, they didn't contact me back. But, at the interview, they are all the same, saying they need someone as soon as possible and when you want to get onboard, it seems they are not hurrying up. For me, that's not serious at all. If you need someone urgently, put it in first speed, at least and be honest. Government people; doing as they please.

That was the same experience I had when I was looking for a job in the Philippines. It happened to me many times. So when they tell me they will call, I no longer expect a call, because most of the time it is just their way of saying they rejected my application. It’s almost like a euphemism— instead of saying they turned me down, they just say they will call.

@valherma00 I completely understand! It’s so disappointing when you really want something, and people just give empty promises. At this point, it makes sense to wait for real evidence before getting your hopes up.

@annierose i envy older generations cause, i feel, there weren't so many messed up and strange employers or they didn't talk about it.

i guess i really wanted to work there so, yes, no more believing them until i see an evidence. you are right.

Because of this kind of people, i didn't get a chance to teach and felt terrible. you are right, they have no idea what honesty or ethics is but karma will get them, it must. thank you. it's a late interview than usual, 4:15 p.m. but i hope they will treat me better.

@valherma00 They do all seem to do it. They really should recognize it would probably be impossible to let everyone know so quickly, and just be vague on when it really will be possible to get back to people.. They’ll never change though.

thanks. it's just, i used their words. they said they will call me for sure today, after the talk with other school. this job position is working at 2 schools and they made me believe they are interested in me. if they just said, we will let you know, without on and on talking, new infos, i would know straight away they aren't serious and i would cross them out from my list in a second. the ones who educate young ones are 100 times worse than criminals, i feel. for their staff and kids they have one face and for outsiders, a different face. presenting themselves in the best light, that always made me sick. and why couldn't they be more apologetic. like, we are sorry or something.no, applications are still ongoing, good luck, like i bothered them or something and they answered me after 5 hours. their level of communication is, i just can't.ah.

thank you. i thought they won't answer me at all and when i received an answer at 7.30 p.m., i felt happy but i was served with those ungrateful words. i also hope i will impress this another employer and that i will start working as soon as possible, which i really want and need. thank you again, sincerely.

I think government jobs are very slow to fill. I hope you find a good position! I am hoping for an interview at a school I worked for before.
