Phone Call with the Vice Principal...

Hello everyone, how are you all doing? I am not sure if I had mentioned it, but we had gotten a call from Eli's school. The vice principal and his ELA teacher wanted to have a conversation because they had some concerns with Eli. Finally yesterday things worked out and we were able to talk to them. They even had Eli called from class to the office to be a part of the conversation. They were worried because of the two F's he has (math and ELA). They think he is taking advantage of the 501 plan (or whatever it is called - a plan given to his teachers so they know his anxiety issues, and that he may communicate in a different way). They think he is using it to the point that he's not even turning in work. We suggest bring home assignments to work on - of course not ones that are due the same day. Maybe he can work on the kind of assignments he was getting Fs on last semester at home, and be able to complete them before they become late. Not that my brain works in the way to be ale to help him anymore lol. Anyways - so we'll see if that helps any. Not sure what else could be done? Photo is mine.

My oldest daughter was so smart I never had to help her figure out homework. She would help my son and stepson. All the kids are far smarter than I was. I hope things get better with your son’s grades. My son who is a senior is not doing assignments as well. Makes me upset.

I hope that will solve the problem. Eli might be smarter than everyone in pulling some strings, I hope he understand how important doing well at school is. Don't know if this can help but here is the link
Learning how to help a child who is struggling with anxiety may feel overwhelming. As parents, we want to “fix” our child’s problem. Unfortunately, swooping in and saving the day for our kids isn’t the best solution every time. The best way to help your ch

I hope things start turning around for Eli. It's only going to get tougher as he goes through the grades. Good luck.

He’s smart enough to know no one is going to make him do anything he doesn’t want to do.
