Small Town Dollar General Drama.

I stopped at Dollar General on the way home from town to grab milk and biscuits so I could make biscuits and gravy for dinner. Simple plan. In and out. Or so I thought. The second I walked in, I accidentally stepped straight into the dramatic retelling of an incident that apparently rocked the town earlier that day. From what I gathered, there was some serious baby mama, baby daddy drama, and at some point she slammed his head into the glass door by the milk section. And when I say into the glass, I mean through the glass. Shattered. Milk aisle crime scene. Everyone was still buzzing about it when I walked in, talking all at once like I’d missed the season finale of a very low-budget reality show. It was a solid reminder that small-town drama hits different, and yes, this is absolutely a small town. All I wanted was milk and biscuits. Instead, I got dinner ingredients and free gossip. So now I’m curious. What’s the last truly juicy gossip you heard?

Well, I’m trying to think of something funny because too much of what would pass as gossip is just sad. If I can think of something, I’ll come back.

I always got such good gossip at church too. Love the ladies that I grew up with around at the church, but man could they gossip.

@thislittlepennyearns We thankfully don’t have any gossips at this church, but it was a big problem at the church I grew up in. Two women in particular, and they were the worst busybodies. Sweet ladies, but what loose lips!

@AmbiePam Some of the sweetest ladies I have ever met have been the biggest gossips ever.

That was certainly some juicy gossip. I haven't heard any lately. One of our residents has had to go into permanent care. She fell once too often on her head and now seems to have some form of early dementia.

@thislittlepennyearns That's about the only downside to living in a lifestyle village. We're mostly elderly and these things are pretty well ongoing.

That's gossip like and also kind of sad. It always makes me sad to hear when older people start loosing control of their bodies i guess is the best way to put it. I hope she does well in care.
