I got the idea for this post after seeing something @AmbiePam shared yesterday about stores we myLotters wish we had. That sent my brain down a rabbit hole, and I started thinking about all the new places popping up in our town and the surrounding areas. First up: our Winn-Dixie officially closed last week, and Aldi is taking its place. We already have Aldis a couple of towns over, but this one is going to be right here in our town, which is honestly exciting. I know a lot of people are upset since Winn-Dixie has been a staple forever, and I totally get that. But personally? I’m pretty pumped about Aldi moving in. Next big news: Pensacola is getting a Costco. It’s about an hour away, but it’ll be the first Costco within reasonable driving distance. As someone who grew up going to Costco with my grandpa and uncle, this one hits a little nostalgic note for me. We already drive about an hour to Sam’s Club in either direction, so this really isn’t any different—just way more exciting. Also coming to Pensacola: their first Raising Cane’s. We tried Cane’s in Texas and again in Jacksonville, and let me tell you… we fell hard for that chicken. So yes, we are VERY excited about that one. And finally, yesterday at the gas station I noticed signs everywhere saying we’re getting a Casey’s. I already knew about Casey’s because a friend in Iowa talks about it nonstop and absolutely raves about how good it is. Then I mentioned it to @AmbiePam yesterday, and she confirmed—it’s legit. So yep, add that to the excitement list too. So that’s the “new” stuff headed our way. I’m usually not all that hyped about new stores coming in, but this batch? This one has me paying attention.
