Where is our compassion

I was listening to my favorite show some few months back when the presenter narrated a sad incident that happened at the radio station the previous day..
A dog wandered onto the road and the motorcycle rider didn't see the dog on time which led to him hitting the dog. That caused a severe crash that claimed lives.
Even though, the dog was still writhing in pain, angry bystanders overwhelmed by the tragedy stoned the poor dog to death.
That led me to reflect on how people react to tragedies. I would have expected some compassion, empathy and kindness from those people.. helping and understanding the dog situation would have led to a more humane response.
Folks, when emotions run high, or we are in a difficult moment or tragedy, let's show compassion instead of anger. The dog is just an animal.. likely acted on instinct without any intent to cause harm..it had no malicious intent.. accidents do happen and reacting based on emotion ruins things. Let's always approach situations with compassion, empathy and kindness.
I felt truly sad when she narrated that story

if people are treating other people poorly, they will treat animals too but, yes, there is some good in us, i hope.
