The Santa Cruz Munincpal Wharf is under repair currently. It was damaged by winter waves. Three workers working on a repair project were rescued. The end of the wharf containing the restroom was floating away in the water when the damage occured..The bathrooms became an unexpected tourist attraction. They were known as bathroom #3. The bathrooms floated away and people watched as they came ashore at the San Lorenzo River.People took pictures and even wrote on the walls. The new repairs are now giving shape. The damage had happened in 2024 during a large storm. The famous Dolphin restaurant was also damaged and had to be demolished. Pictured is bathroom #3, which floated away and had actually been seen floating in the ocean.

Was anyone in the rest room when it floated away?

I don't believe anyone was in it. The breakaway happened when workers were doing some type of repair.

That certainly was fodder for a lot of jokes.

Technically, 2 were rescued, while 1 swam to shore.
