We all get tired sometimes, both physically and mentally. I believe taking small breaks is important. How do you usually take care of your energy? Any simple habits you’d like to share?

I try to limit my time around people who seem to suck the energy out of me. I don’t need unnecessary drama in my life.

That’s a healthy mindset. Protecting your energy and setting boundaries is important. Life already brings enough challenges, there’s no need to invite extra drama that drains your peace.

I lean on my wife to uplift my mood and avoid negativity best I can. Laughter is a good way to protect and feed good energy

@baconstripsxxx That’s really beautiful. Having a supportive partner makes such a difference. Choosing laughter and positivity, especially during stressful times, is a powerful way to protect your energy and keep moving forward.

I try to take short breaks during the day, even just 5–10 minutes to stretch or step outside for fresh air. Listening to music and having a small snack also help me recharge. I think little habits like these really add up over time!

That’s a really healthy approach. Those small breaks may seem simple, but they make a big difference in keeping your energy and focus up throughout the day. Little habits like that truly do add up over time.

@indahwow Absolutely agree.I like how simple those habits are. Do you find one of them helps more than the others on really busy days? I’m always curious how people adjust when their energy is really low.

@annierose simple habits really are the easiest to stick with, especially on chaotic days. For me, when energy is really low, the most helpful one is giving myself permission to slow down without guilt. Even a short pause, deep breathing, stretching for a minute, or just sitting quietly, can reset things more than pushing through ever does. On busy days, I adjust by lowering the bar: doing one small thing well instead of trying to do everything. Funny enough, that usually brings a bit of energy back.

I try to get some exercise in, whether it be hiking, cycling, or lifting weights.

That’s great. Mixing different types of exercise like that keeps things balanced and makes it easier to stay consistent while supporting both physical and mental health.

I don't let myself take break. On the contrary, I put challenges before myself and force myself to achieve my goals. I read Hindi literature, do yoga, meditate and walk 20 kms early in the morning. Remember, if you think you can, you can, and if you think you can't, you are right. Try and keep trying, you will achieve what you want. In our army, the commanders say, when the going gets tough, the tough get going. Hope, you understand. Don't lose heart, my friend. God is the source of energy. Believe in Him.

@indahwow Thank you. I do take rest when I get tired and completely exhausted. I know it's necessary But my mother and my father can't sit quiet Both are over 80, but they keep doing something or the other from morning till night. So do my wife.

Your discipline and determination are truly inspiring. Pushing yourself, staying mentally strong, and holding on to faith can be very powerful motivators. At the same time, it’s also important to listen to your body and allow rest when needed, so you can keep going strong in the long run. Thank you for the encouragement, my friend.

That’s important too. Allowing yourself to truly rest and do nothing helps your body and mind reset so you can come back feeling refreshed.

That sounds like a well-earned rhythm of life. Enjoying coffee, snacks, and plenty of breaks after retirement is a blessing, sometimes the best boost comes from slowing down and savoring the moment.
