The word like can be used by musicians to convey various things. It might be used in an emotional way to express the beginnings of falling in love. Or maybe the artist is making a comparison to something else. Another use may be to judge a social issue. Anyway, I would rate these "like" songs below some of the best. Hey... What's not to LIKE! Hopefully, these selections come up "smelling like roses" for you too... 4. WAITING FOR A GIRL LIKE YOU- This 1981 song by "Foreigner" hit #2 on the charts. Many songs from this group deal with relationships and emotions. This one's meaning is pretty easy to figure out and makes for a great wedding song, lol. Although love ballads are not typical of Foreigner's usual hard-rocking style, they struck success again with another tearjerker, a #1 hit "I Want to Know What Love Is." 3. CUTS LIKE A KNIFE- You may be more familiar with "Bryan Adams" other song "Summer of 69" or "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You." But this "LIKE-TITLED" tune was a Top Twenty hit for this artist. Comparing falling in love to a weapon like a knife was unique symbolism, but apparently for Adams "it felt so right." 2. CRY LIKE A BABY- This 1968 tune was recorded by the band "THE BOX TOPS" who had another successful earlier song called "The Letter (1967)." The song is about losing the love of his caring girlfriend. The singer did not realize what he had until she left him leaving him crying like a baby every time he thinks about her. This #2 hit was kept from number 1 spot by the song "Honey" recorded by Bobby Goldsboro. Oh well, no use "crying over spilt milk or even honey, lol. 1. LIKE A ROLLING STONE- This tune is Dylan's most popular song and his first big hit, being released in 1965 and peaking at #2 on the charts. The track is the story of a debutante who becomes a loner when she falls out of high society. Dylan repeatedly asked the girl in this iconic song how does it feel to lose it all. TRIVIA CHALLENGE- NAME THAT MYSTERY TUNE! ***For those who like to test their music knowledge. Words with quote marks provide valuable hints! This "weird tune" was recorded by an "All Girl Band" in 1986. It became a smash #1 hit for the group. A song about a "foreign land" famous for its "Pyramids" was quite a strange "novelty song." With the refrain "Ay oh whey oh, ay oh whey oh" the song asks the listener to "walk a certain way." This "country famous for Cleopatra, Tombs, Hieroglyphs, and the river Nile" is "part of the song title." -Do you know the song title and the name of this all-girl band? -Can you name one song with 'LIKE' in the title? Here is a video of Dylan playing this classic live. Comments on the songs welcome... Source- Wikipedia and Song Facts

Walk Like an Egyptian by The Bangles…that’s quite a song! More “Like” songs…“What I Like About You” by the Romantics (I LOVE this song), and “Like a Virgin” by Madonna.
