This crazy dance was inspired by rock and roll music; I mean, once your feet got moving to the beat, you had to have a dance to keep going. And then to help everyone out, along came Dick Clark to introduce the dance and Chubby Checker to make it into a dance craze.
DeLand, Florida, set a world record on October 11, 2012, when Chubby Checker sang the song live and the crowd danced. An estimated 4,000 people twisted along with Checker.
It is also a special memory for me because I did the Twist with my dad when I was four. I could get to the floor easily at my height, but Dad had a long way to twist down at the height of 6 foot 1.
Let’s dance I think that the Twist could get that hip working right again

We danced this in prom in high school sometime in 70s. We loved it. It's energetic.
