It's Wednesday not Monday...Wake Up

I am so thrown off due to the weather. My husband has been off since Thursday I think and I have been trapped in the house most of the week due to ice. It really sucks. When I'm trapped I don't get motivated to do anything, I pace and stare out the window. The things I could have gotten done are endless but I just couldn't. That trapped feeling gets to you. Today is the first day back to work. We were able to get out yesterday so I'm working the rest of this week. I figure my husband will be off for the rest of the week. There's so much to do. I spent yesterday after our trip to town, at my grandmother's. It will always be her house no matter what I do with it. I got a lot of clothes put up for sale and I think I'll be putting the dresser up next. We're making progress on some things and others it's stagnate. I'm reading a few ARCs from Carrie Ann Ryan, Legacy and Accidental Runaway Groom. I have to get them done and reviewed for her. I love her books so it's not a hardship. I keep working on the Green Bay blanket. I love the colors and it's fun to do especially once you get into it. I post progress on Facebook and Tedoo, even if no one else sees it, I see the progress from one picture to the next and I'm proud of myself for it. The shop I'm hoping will pick up soon. I'm thinking the weather has kept everyone in pretty much. With Valentine's Day coming up, I'm hoping to be busy. It would be nice as I haven't had a lot of work for the last year. There's still a lot of cleaning to do in both houses. We have station commander elections on Thursday. I'm not getting my hopes up but if I get lucky maybe I'll get it. I've been studying my AEMT book in hopes that there will be a class I can take if not this year then maybe next year. Everything has changed now and it's opened up a lot. I'm not ok and to say I am would be a lie. However it's one foot in front of the other and the world keeps turning. Citizen Soldier has been the band on repeat right now. It doesn't heal me but it helps me say what I can't voice. It doesn't matter if no one else hears it or understands it, it's out there. I've picked up beading. I have fabric to try to make cornhole bags. I have ribbon and pipe cleaners to try to do flowers. How I deal with things....I dive into new things and just occupy myself. Not the healthiest of things to do but hey, it's how I handle it. We're still looking into volunteering for CASA and a few more things in the community. We talked about it and together we decided that I would do CPR classes for the kids at the Spot, it's where kids can hang out and them ore troubled ones have a specific day there. Oh yeah, the decision was that I would do it for them for free. Depending on how many kids I'll cover the cards. CASA and The Spot are built on volunteers and grants so I'll do what I can. That also brings me to I'll be picking up some CPR classes this year. Trent is going to get with me to figure out what I need and the paperwork so I can get started. He knows how last year went and he's trying to help me get my feet back in everything again. Maybe one day I'll actually get the to do list down and have things to check off and actually get done. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get a digital calendar soon and that should help. How is it in your neck of the woods? We're doing ok here now. What are y'all up to today?

I finally got to get out yesterday, and as hard as it was to get out of the neighborhood, and walk in the parking lots and sidewalks, I was glad I did. I was getting a little bit beaten down. I was surprised yesterday to see Bill Belichick not make the Hall of Fame. Ridiculous, huh.

@JordanLader They recently changed it to pro coaches had to be out of pro coaching one year before being eligible due to the coaches being so old when they retire (Bill is 73).

@AmbiePam Well that certainly puts it in perspective. Yeah, he should have definitely been in. I mean if he isn't like the embodiment of the hall of fame than what is? Like what are you aiming for that this man hasn't achieved?

I didn't think he could yet. I didn't think he retired yet. I don't know the specific rules for the hall of fame. I figured when he was eligible though he'd be a shoe in.

I think that a lot of times the best thing to do is to keep busy. Jump into new things. They have to be done anyway. Here is Idaho we did get a little snow. It melted off by early afternoon and is now a thing of the past. I know it's not so pleasant in other areas like back east.

@JordanLader .........I bet you do. I'm sure glad I don't have to drive anymore. I hated when the snow melted and then the next morning there was black ice on the roads.

It finally stared clearing up here a couple days ago but there are still a few back roads that are iced over. I hate it.

The crocheting is for me. It makes me slow down a bit. I want to start doing the epoxy tumblers again. I didn't have the patience for them before but I want to try again.

Oh it's still cold. We've been in the 20's and the 30's nothing higher yet. I'm waiting for it though, I am not made for the cold.

@JordanLader The older I get, the less I can take the cold. It was 11 below zero last night.
