San Francisco mountain lion and coyote.

A few days ago a mountain lion was wandering San Francisco and got trapped. It had been seen wandering all over downtown, with some people getting close to it--not their choice! It stopped and stared at a woman for about 5 minutes. Animal control officers tranquilized it, then, they moved it out of the downtown in San Francisco. As KGo channel 7 reporter Frances Wang was covering the story about the mountain lion being rescued , a coyote walked behind her, also in downtown San Francisco. Guess San Francisco is getting wild.

I never heard of coyotes walking in the streets of San Francisco before.

They walk in San Jose streets, so I guess it's possible.

@Deepizzaguy That is where they belong. There really isnt much for them to do or eat in the city.

That is getting a little to close for comfort. Thank goodness no one was hurt. I had an experience many years ago and hope to never have another one. It is kind of funny that a coyote showed up there too.

@velvet53 Actually they usually don’t want any trouble. Also, people haze them to reinforce their cautiousness with humans. They are pretty easy to scare away.

It is funny. I have seen one in Plymouth in Amador County. It walked right by me while keeping its head turned away from me.

OMG! I can't imagine having to face a mountain lion. I would be scared out of my wits.

Yes, you don't expect that in downtown San Francisco. It has since been relocated to a natural area.

Wow, it's a bit odd that the animals are coming into the city in this way.
