Mother-In-Law Is Having Good Days and Bad Days

Today was a bad day. She called, angry, saying she'd made a mistake and didn't want to live in Memory Care and hated it there. She said: "I don't like being around all these old people on walkers" " I'm not like them. There's nothing wrong with me" Giving her some grace for having Alzheimer's, but she's never been a compassionate woman and has always thought less of those with "imperfections" as she sees it. It's all very maddening.

It's so sad though for your mother in law, She can't understand what's happening to her. I can relate to the frustration you must feel. I had the same sort of situation with my Dad. I used to tell myself when he went off on one Patience is a virtue I must cultivate

I call that a good day if she's behaving how she normally would. It sounds like she still has a lot of lucid moments.

So sad to hear that. I know that you care for her at least trying to understand her the best you could

The fact that her medical care is completely covered is so amazing. She can’t safely live on her own, you don’t really have a choice.
