Hey y'all!
I hope you're doing amazing. =)
Starting over at 41 years old is no joke y'all! So, I am asking for advice. I'm not sure if there is any to give but maybe just pray the Lord opens doors for us...
Anyway, I just got my drivers license as I said in another discussion. It's a HUGE accomplishment that I am grateful for.
However, here's the hard part. I need a Full Time job. There's nothing within walking distance from me. The $1,000 per month I make with photography isn't enough to take care of a household and all bills that come with it.
To get a job I need a vehicle, and insurance of course. To get a vehicle and insurance I need a job. See the problem? And no I CANNOT afford ride services and I live in the county/country so no free or affordable services come this far.
What can I do? I am trying my best to "figure things out" but really what is there I can figure out?
Any advice? Thoughts? If not, please pray for direction and open doors!

Are you getting child support? If you aren't;t you should be. That could help you afford a car and insurance. What do you feel qualified to do? Do you have a resume? You could always look online. There are various churches. community charitable orgs, non profits and also the Salvation Army I think that get some donated vehicles. However, I don't think they are easy to come by, but you could always put your name in and see what happens.

@snowy22315 I am not getting child support, and probably never will. He moves to different states to avoid paying things. So I doubt I will ever see a penny. =(
I don't have a resume, I haven't had a job outside in 15 years unfortunately.
I will have to look into those options, I haven't ever heard of that option.
Thank you so much!

@LovingMyBabies Whynot running a daycare out of your home? Maybe you could do some work as a secretary or some such thing at the church too. Social Service should have a child support enforcement agency division that might be able to collect something as well. They do have some ability to collect in other states I think.

@snowy22315 Unfortunately, I have pets and I don't necessarily want people in and out of my home every day right now. My home is finally peaceful and I'd like to keep it that way for now for my children.
They do have that service for once you have a court order. I don't have that yet because I'm not divorced and definitely don't have the funds for a lawyer. =(

@LovingMyBabies I am looking for remote jobs. If I come across one that does not require experience I shall keep you in mind.

@flapiz I haven't found any that you don't need experience for and a hard wired connection for internet. I only have satellite internet here.
Thank you for keeping me in your prayers! That's so appreciated.

Do you have any neighbors within walking distance? If so, you could ask them if you could be their maid. Hopefully one would hire you as their maid.

@LeaPea2417 My only neighbor is my daughter and they don't need a maid. But thank you! We are out in the country for sure. The closest gas station is 4 miles away-and I already applied there and got denied for lack of experience.

You will be in my prayers. I finally got a job after what seemed like forever, and now I'm slogging though the "onboarding" process.

I feel so bad Jennifer that you are stuck in basically a Catch 22 situation. I don't have any idea per se but I definitely will pray that the Lord will find the answer for you.

Congratulations on getting your driver's license! It's at least a step in the right direction. You seem to be in a Catch-22 position, you need a job in order to afford a car, and you need a car in order to get a job. Tough position to be in. Unfortunately, I don't have any suggestions for you other than trying to find online jobs or at-home jobs that can at least supplement your photography income. Also, are there support services your local church can offer/provide? I will pray for you, but I think the church can also help if you can let them know your situation.

Oh, my! You certainly have a horrible situation. I wish I had advice to give you that would help. Is there any state assistance that you could apply for? Work at your church? Can a bicycle get you to town for jobs such as a salesperson, waitress, or somewhere you can use your photography skills in a shop or newspaper? I will pray that something works out for you soon.

Prayer is everything in all situations. Can this be the time you ask for help from family and friends?
