I Had Two Allergic Reactions Today

United States
February 9, 2026 3:51pm CST
I had an allergist appointment this morning. It was good timing. First they gave me my allergy shots. By the time the doctor came in I was having a reaction. She didn’t know why. They gave me an antihistamine named Xyzal. Then later this afternoon I ate a Hersheys protein bar like I do every day and I had a reaction It’s just not my day for allergens

I wonder if you get so many reactions because you have limited your diet so much over the years? I know you will say because of them you have limited your diet, but wonder what came first the cart or the horse? I hope you get over your reaction anyway. It can't be any fun.

I hope you get over it all, Funny I remember at the age of 8 I had eaten so many chocolates because my parents had friedns who cmae over with chocolate boxes, then mom saw me scrathing and one arme with a resh, Got the doc to look at it and he said basically I have no allergies but looks like I might have one now to chocolate, That is all I needed to hear and ahd no chocolates for a year after that I can eat them and get no reaction at all,

That is crazy something you ate normally doing that. I hope they can find out why that would happen.

I'm glad they're just minor irritations and not anaphylaxis or breathing problems, but I worry

Oh wow, it's odd about the Hershey's bar that you eat regularly. I wonder if they added some new ingredients?

I hope that you get to feeling better. I have never had a reaction to anything so I don't know how it feels or anything.

I hope you had an epi-pen handy and are feeling much better now. My doctors want me to keep 4 epi-pens on hand at all times. They overloaded me when I saw the allergist and the eye specialist this time. When the pharmacy brought my new prescriptions, they had 8 epi-pens for me. (I usually use 4 in a year. Both doctors prescribed 4 of them. )

Tomorrow will be better.
