Darkness

Complete darkness is one of my biggest fears these days, and I always have a lantern or flashlight nearby.
At one time, I only slept in the dark and it didn't bother me at all, but now it feels as if I see shadowy things, hence the lights.
My second biggest fear are bugs: water bugs, spiders or anything crawling and creepy.
What are your biggest fears??

Darkness and fear of heights are my largest fears.

@misunderstood_zombie One reason that I admire platform divers since they admit feeling nervous on the platform in the swimming pool.

I have never liked the dark, and I am not fond of bugs especially spiders. I had a childhood incident that involved the dark and a spider so I’m sure that made it worse. Also, as a child my vision was terrible, and things looked spooky in the shadows.

That sounds very scary for a child.

I don't go outside after it starts getting dark or before it starts getting light. I can't see very well in dimmer light so just stay inside. My house is dim most of the time. Bright lights hurt my eyes but I know where everything is so don't trip over anything.
My laptop and phone are always on one side of my bed so my bedroom is never dark.

I keep a lamp going and sleep with a mask, which is great for when you want to sleep late, which I do.

My biggest fear is my freezer and fridge being empty.
I fear starvation.
The darkness, seeing shadowy things in the dark is quite normal.
If you stay in the dark for a while
Then switch the light off and then on again
You will see more shadowy things

I guess yours is really the more real of the three fears.

@misunderstood_zombie
Starving must be hellish
I don't think I would cope very well with that
