Oh, the poor dear mother-in-law.
She called and complained for about 30 minutes. Everything under the sun. Then when she realized she wasn't garnering sympathy, she started to lie.
She told us her leg was itchy and swollen up the size of a basketball and she couldn't get her shoe on. So while she was telling the story I got on the other line and called the nurse to check on her. When hubby told her the nurse was on her way, she started backpedaling. "Well, it's gone down some now." Needless to say when the nurse got there less than 5 minutes later there was absolutely nothing wrong with her leg. Never was. It was a totally fabricated story for sympathy.
She can't accept where she's living. She says all the other residents don't like her. She is in denial that there's anything wrong with her.
It's both a very sad and a very trying situation all around.

Raising a parent is way much more difficult than raising a child!

You know she's in a really good facility if the nurse showed up so quickly. Guess it's going to be a roller coaster ride with your MIL if she isn't happy with being there,
