My Mom's Old Hymn Book

I look through this book and think of my mom playing these old hymns on her piano. She would play for hours sometimes, and she was so good at it that she played at her church.
This book is exactly 70 years old, and even though it's dirty and tearing, it's still plugging along.

That's so sweet that you carried it at your wedding. I have a bible from when I was little also.

My grandfather gave me a 150 year old (at the time) book about our church’s denomination doctrine once. He was fascinated by old church history as was my late mom.
My mom played the piano for our church. She could play organ too, but most of the time they just asked her to play the piano for service. Of course, a lot of churches use electronic music now, complete with electric keyboard. I love looking through old hymnals.

Ooh, the old green Baptist hymnal. Hymn 204! That was “my” hymn when I was a child.
