Can Giraffes Get Struck By Lightning?

Yes, yes they can. In fact, giraffes are more likely to be struck by lightning than humans due to their height. Makes you glad you're not that tall now, huh? Giraffes are the tallest land animals averaging 17 ft tall.

Glad I’m not a giraffe. Although, I swear, there is a pro football player named Mike Glennon who is the closest to a human giraffe as you’ll ever get.

Well, not only do they have those long necks but if they stand under a tree to eat most likely the tree can get hit by lightning.

I would believe that giraffes due to being tall can be struck by lightning.

When there was a threat of lightning we had to put our Giraffe indoors. He didn't mind though as he knew that he would get a carrot
