When I learned swimming when I was a kid the first stroke that was taught was freestyle. After floating once swimmers learn to do underwater breathing the maximum force is required from legs is in freestyle. Thereafter backstroke is taught and breaststroke and butterfly. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/dJK1ETVJ7Ew https://www.youtube.com/shorts/gOI9qk9B_LA

Mom taught all of us how to swim when we were little. We had a stream and two ponds on our property and she didn't want any of us to drown. Freestyle is what she taught us first.

thanks DE children learn swimming faster than grown ups. They disperse less amount of water. So struggle and learn

@sathviksouvik That's very true. I'm glad your sons have learned to swim. I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to them.

That makes sense. Freestyle builds strong leg kicks and better breathing control.
