It was a Good Visit With Mother-in-Law

On Wednesday we visited mother-in-law and took her out to lunch.
She was in decent spirits and enjoyed getting out of the Memory Care Facility for a while.
Did I tell you she must have snuck some scissors into the facility (we took one pair away before she moved but didn't know she had more) and cut her own hair again and cut off her ankle monitor to keep her from wandering? So I found two more pair of scissors in her room and I took them when she wasn't looking.
She's not thrilled about being in a facility, but she seems to have accepted now that this is her reality.

Wow! That's a lot of scissors. Didn't know they wore an ankle monitor; but that does make sense.

Sometimes they have different alerts like that. I had not ever seen them use an ankle monitor here.

I am glad she did not injure herself with the scissors.

Wow, she’s pretty ingenious for an Alzheimer’s patient. I hate them using an ankle monitor like that, though.
Sounds so…incarcerating.

How on earth is she getting so many pairs of scissors !
It’s good that you were able to take her out for a while ….and that she didn’t make a fuss when you had to take her back.

Acceptance does not come easily. Good that she has accepted the reality. This makes things easier and smooth. Good that you visited her. She would have enjoyed that outing.

That's good for you for you have a mother-in-law to visit. Me I miss my MIL for she's already gone many years ago.
