Cinders

Poor Cinderella, she was always filthy with dirt and soot covering her clothes, skin and hair. She liked to stay on the hearth near the cinders to stay warm, hence the name Cinderella.
Some things I've read said that her skin and clothes were burnt by the cinders, and others say no, they were not burned.
This is a step down from the 1950's film, where she looks extremely clean and has a lot of clean mice and bird friends.
Have you heard of the original story before?
There are videos on YouTube showing the original story.

It's a sad story for sure, but it all ends well. If only everyone had a prince that could come and save them.

@misunderstood_zombie I see. I don’t think I have heard the original story.

One site said her skin and clothes were burned, but it's a rough original story.

All I know was she was dirty from the soot as she sleeps next to the fireplace. But no burnt skin.

@misunderstood_zombie True. Having the comforts of technology that we have now, it's hard to imagine I could survive the Middle Ages.

It was a terrible time to be alive in the middle ages for sure.

It's just what one site said that her skin and clothes was burned, but I guess it's not the original story.

@misunderstood_zombie - The very first original story was written in French and never mentioned that her skin and clothes were burned. Surely a very bad translation.

One place said her skin and clothes were burned, I think it was suggesting small burns. It's kind of a horrible story where her sister cut off her toes to fit in the shoes. It's quite gruesome. I like our version much better.

I like the original movie version of the story better than the original.
