We all do work for companies and the government that used to be done by professional secretaries

I have noticed this more and more recently. I had to file some forms for the government. Years ago, I would fill out the form, and send it back. They government took care of it. Now, in order to get the information, WE have to go on to the government website, fill in the information ourselves, and hope that it comes out right. I made a mistake last year on my salary, and for the whole year they put the wrong name on my salary slip. I finally called them, and they said, yeah, you made that mistake, not us!!!
So pay attention when you fill out forms on line. . .

Nothing has changed. You're still responsible for filling out forms, weather you do it yourself online or mail it in. At the end of the day, it's still you providing the information.
Years ago, my husband George, helped me fill out a form for something related to medicade. Because the person handling the form misread my address, I lost benifits for a while until I was able to rectify it. Despite the person in charge of my case misreading the address, it was my husband's job to make sure it came out clear. He failed to check it.
Personally, I perfer filling out forms online. I can check it, re-read each section and before I keep going. I'm still in control, I'm still providing the information. It's still me.The only change, I'm going to a website. If something messes up, it's still on me.
Years ago, before websites became a thing, all the govornment did, was pass that form around along the chain of command. Nothing more. They weren't doing anything different. Now, when you fill out forms online. Same process, only (hopefully) faster.

I understand, but what I object to is that we have to use our own time to fill out these forms, before I could fill out my time card at work, and now I have to do it after work.
This particular job is teaching music after school and this school doesn't have wiifii so I have to put in the hours on my own time when I am at home. . . I am doing work and not getting paid for it.

@lifecoachjerusalem There's nothing you can do about the school not having Wi-fi, but there are work arounds. Like doing at home, as you've mentioned, or tethering your phone to your work computer and doing it there. Either way, you're still responsible to do it. And, it's better that you do it, instead of someone else. You're paid based on what you put in. If someone else did it, how would you know you were getting what you should?

I hate filling out forms online but it happens more and more.
